OpenAI je americká společnost specializující se na výzkum a vývoj umělé inteligence (AI). Založena v prosinci 2015 Samem Altmanem, Elonem Muskem a dalšími investory, původně fungovala jako nezisková organizace s cílem vyvíjet bezpečnou a prospěšnou umělou obecnou inteligenci (AGI) pro celé lidstvo. V roce 2019 však došlo k transformaci na hybridní strukturu zahrnující neziskovou entitu a ziskovou dceřinou společnost OpenAI LP, což umožnilo přilákat významné investice, včetně 13 miliard dolarů od společnosti Microsoft. Mezi klíčové produkty OpenAI patří ChatGPT, konverzační AI model spuštěný v listopadu 2022, a DALL-E, model generující obrázky na základě textových popisů.
